Three Wyandanch schools buildings had to be evacuated on Tuesday after elevated carbon dioxide levels were detected.

The Martin Luther King. Jr. Elementary School, Lafrancis Hardiman Elementary School and an administrative building all on the same campus had to be cleared out.

In a letter to the community, the district said the issue appears to be related to equipment in a building kitchen, which was discovered during lunch period.

The letter said several students were impacted, but it's not known how severely.

All three buildings have since been cleared for reentry.
