Governor Kathy Hochul’s office has announced that tax relief is coming for millions of homeowners in New York.

Over three million eligible taxpayers will receive this relief through the STAR program. Some recipients will receive the benefit in the form of a tax exemption, while others will receive a check in the mail.

“For many homeowners, it'll be an extra $350 to $600 in their pockets,” the governor says.

Homeowners can visit the state’s STAR program website for eligibility information, payment schedules and direct deposit enrollments. The distributions will continue through the summer and fall.
