Wind gusts can still reach around 30 mph or so today -- not damaging, but annoying. Otherwise, today is nice and sunny with highs around 72 degrees.

Tomorrow is fine, too, but expect increasing clouds.

Wednesday and Thursday especially will just be downright nasty weather days for May across the lower Hudson Valley. You will need to dress a bit more warmly and deal with scattered ponding of water into Thursday.

The first of the showers arrive midday Wednesday.

Wednesday's rain will be off and on, with breezy weather and highs only around 55 degrees.

Thursday will be the wetter day with moderate rain much of the day. There is no widespread flooding threat at this time, but ponding of water and slower than normal travel is to be expected.

Heading into Memorial Day weekend, there can be a lingering shower, especially Friday and Saturday, but overall the weather will be improving. Other than a late-day passing shower on Memorial Day Monday, the holiday should be decent with high temperatures back to around 70 degrees.
