You could be saving money at the grocery store for years to come, if you shop locally.
News 12 is learning new details about how long those lower prices we told you about at Stop & Shop will stick around.
According to Daniel Wolk, Stop & Shop's communication manager, the answer is years.
"This is not a short-term deal, this is a thing that's going to be happening for years and years and years, these prices are the same," he says. "All of these prices that have been lowered are consistent across the base, and they will be here for years to come, they will not change."
Wolk tells News 12 that thanks to a donation from their parent company, the price cuts will stick around.
One shopper says that's welcome news, given the rising prices at the pump.
"The gas prices have gone up, everything's gone up, so it's hard." said Beatrice Jean-Mary, of Bellerose. "It's just looking at the budget and deciding what do we need and what do we not need."
Wolk, who spoke to News 12 at the company's New Hyde Park location, also says the new, lower prices are at their other stores in New York, and in New Jersey and Connecticut.
