A 20-year-old Ronkonkoma man was arraigned on new public lewdness allegations after prosecutors say he exposed himself and masturbated in front of two women in separate incidents, months after being released following a similar arrest.
As News 12 previously reported, Nicholas Critelli is accused of sitting in his vehicle in a Walmart parking lot in Centereach on Oct. 1 while masturbating in view of a woman passerby. The woman reported the incident to police.
Prosecutors say Critelli was accused again on Oct. 14 after allegedly masturbating inside his vehicle in a Target parking lot in Commack while calling out to a woman, saying, “Oh my God. You’re so pretty. Are you from around here?”
The woman reported the incident, and Critelli was arrested on Oct. 16.
During the investigation, prosecutors discovered Critelli had previously been arrested in June on public lewdness charges stemming from two similar incidents in Sayville.
One allegedly occurred in a Target parking lot, while the other took place in a residential neighborhood, where prosecutors say he asked a woman for her Snapchat while masturbating inside his vehicle.
Following his June arrest, Critelli was issued a desk appearance ticket and released.
Critelli was placed on supervised release and is due back in court on Nov. 4.
Prosecutors are asking anyone who may have been a victim to contact Suffolk County police at 631-854-8452.
