Police are searching for a driver who hit two teen girls in Merrick last month.

According to police, a 15-year-old and 17-year-old were crossing Sunrise Highway at the intersection of Merrick Avenue when they were struck.

The driver was spotted in a dark SUV and allegedly fled the scene after the incident. Both girls were taken to the hospital for minor injuries.

The investigation is still ongoing.
