Local police officers are being credited with saving a man’s life in Nassau County.
Body camera video shows the moments Old Westbury officers had to give Philip Amico CPR at a diner after his heart stopped.
The incident happened at the Old Westbury Diner in April where Amico had to be connected to a defibrillator before being transported to the hospital.
The East Williston man got the opportunity to thank his heroes after making a full recovery.
"This all started when I went to the police department just to meet them, because I'd never met them before. Just to say hello and to say thank you," Amico said during the reunion.
"There's really nothing more important that an officer can do than rescue people like we did here," Old Westbury Police Chief Stuart Cameron added.
The officers will also be honored with other first responders at the Jets game on Oct. 25.
