An MS-13 gang member has been sentenced to 60 years for participation in seven murders.
Jairo Saenez pleaded guilty to the murders in January 2025, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of New York. Among those he confessed to helping kill were Brentwood High School students Kayla Cuevas and Nisa Mickens.
The U.S. Attorney's Office also says that Saez admitted to three attempted murders, racketeering, arson and weapon and drug charges, which took place in Brentwood and Central Islip between 2016 and 2017.
Saez was alleged to be second in command to his brother, Alexi Saez, who pleaded guilty to the same crimes in 2024, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office.
He was sentenced to 68 years in prison.
