Police revealed why they were called to Bellport High School multiple times in the first week of September.
According to Suffolk police, one minor was arrested on Thursday following a domestic incident. They say they were called back to the school again on Friday for an issue they're calling, "non-criminal."
The superintendent sent a letter to the community, saying the district has a zero tolerance for any behavior involving physical violence, drugs, or the possession of any weapon.
The district cut more than $530,000 from its security budget after facing a more than $10 million budget shortfall at the end of the last school year.
A spokesperson for the district says they'll provide more information at a school board meeting Wednesday.
