A man was arrested for committing several burglaries over the past few weeks in Suffolk County.
David Roman, 61, of Ronkonkoma, was taken into custody following an investigation into three incidents that occurred in Central Islip, police say.
On May 28, Third Squad detectives say Roman forcibly entered a basement apartment around 12 p.m. at a residence on Calebs Path, taking cash and jewelry.
In the second instance, on June 12, he kicked in the front door at a home on Clayton Street, again taking cash, jewelry and assorted items.
Suffolk police tell News 12 on that occasion the man was confronted by a resident when entering a locked basement apartment, who subsequently called police.
Four days later, on June 16, Roman broke into the First Methodist Church on Wheeler Road by pushing in the air conditioning unit and then damaging an interior door.
At the time of his arrest on Wednesday, detectives say he was in possession of multiple items reported stolen during another burglary that’s still under investigation.
Roman will face charges of burglary, criminal trespass, and criminal possession of stolen property when he is arraigned on Thursday.
