A man is accused of pulling a knife outside of a Nassau County deli late Sunday afternoon.
Officers responded to La Fonda Deli located at 46 Division Avenue in Levittown around 4 p.m. for a disturbance.
Upon arrival, police were told Jawon Rainey, 29, of Levittown, had been asked to leave the establishment numerous times, but refused to do so.
Rainey became irate during the exchange and tried to hit an employee, detectives say.
When the individual eventually exited the business he brandished a knife, which caused workers and patrons to fear for their safety.
Rainey fled the scene on foot but was located by police a short time later and placed under arrest without incident.
Police tell News 12 that the man had previously been issued a trespass ban from this location and was not permitted to be there.
He will be charged with burglary, menacing and attempted assault when he is arraigned at First District Court in Hempstead on Monday.
