Longwood High School was struck by lightning Wednesday night during a severe thunderstorm, according to fire officials.
The bolt hit the Middle Island school’s gym, causing smoky conditions, they said.
The Suffolk County Fire Marshal has been requested.
The school tells News 12 they will be open Thursday.
