If you plan on attending the U.S. Open in Southampton later this month, road closures may make your drive more difficult.
Luckily, the Long Island Rail Road is ramping up their service, so you can skip the traffic.
The MTA announced the LIRR is doubling the amount of trains from the last Open Championship held there in 2018.
The railroad will operate an average of seven to eight additional trains per day, to and from Shinnecock Hills Golf Club, during the week of the tournament.
“The Long Island Rail Road is ready. Avoid the traffic and use our exceptionally reliable service to and from Shinnecock Hills for all the golf action,” LIRR President Rob Free said.
Extra staff will be on hand in Southampton to help customers throughout the championship, which runs from June 15 to June 21.
