A Hauppauge man threatened to kill President Donald Trump and an employee of the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia, according to court documents.
Federal prosecutors say Daniel Kretsinger posted a video on X in June that contained threats directed at both Trump and the unnamed employee.
In one profanity-filled video, Kretsinger allegedly said, “Because you're such a lying, despicable piece of (expletive) I'm specifically targeting you when I come to Washington, D.C. and put a bullet directly between your eyes (expletive) and if Trump keeps up his (expletive) I may kill the president, too.”
Court documents say when law enforcement found and interviewed Kretsinger on Long Island, he admitted the X account belonged to him and acknowledged that he had previously traveled to Washington, D.C., Florida and Long Island looking for the employee.
Kretsinger was arrested and accused of interstate communication of a threat to injure.
An order setting out the conditions of his release said that Kretsinger can't leave New York City or Long Island and that he has to stay in an in-patient treatment program.
He was also ordered not to use social media.
