The New York Islanders are getting ready to drop the puck on a new season Saturday night, and fans heading to UBS Arena for the home opener will have more than hockey to look forward to. UBS Arena and Delaware North are rolling out a new lineup of food and drink options for the 2026-2027 season, giving fans plenty of choices to grab before taking their seats.
But the home opener is also about giving back. The Islanders are kicking off another season of “Hockey With a Heart,” a program that connects local nonprofits with financial support, tickets, fundraising opportunities and exposure during home games. This season’s first featured organization is Tuesday’s Promise, which supports military families of fallen service members, local first responders and families impacted by 9/11.
Since UBS Arena opened in 2021, “Hockey With a Heart” has provided more than $2 million to nonprofits. Last season alone, the program raised about $500,000 for more than 50 organizations.
The Islanders host the New Jersey Devils Saturday at 7:30 p.m.
