A local workshop is working to make the American Dream more accessible for Hudson Valley residents, especially first-time homebuyers. Community Housing Innovations hosted its fourth annual Homeownership Expo in White Plains, bringing together industry experts and prospective buyers under one roof.
The event focused on helping attendees navigate the often-complex housing market by offering guidance on affordability, financing, and the overall homebuying process.
According to Ron Abad, CEO of Community Housing Innovations, achieving homeownership starts with the right foundation.
"The American Dream is still alive, but folks need information, education, a plan and the process right," Abad said. "We provide the partnerships, the resources, the tools, so they can achieve that dream."
The nonprofit organization is dedicated to providing housing and human services that support independence and long-term growth. At the expo, attendees had access to a wide range of resources, including financial assistance programs, practical advice, and one-on-one conversations with lenders and housing professionals.
Organizers say the continued turnout and engagement at the expo show that with the right support and resources, the path to homeownership is still within reach for many families in the region.
