A dark trail filled with jump scares awaits those who are brave enough to pay a visit to the Garden City Bird Sanctuary.
The Haunted Hikes the sanctuary has around Halloween are some of its biggest fundraisers of the year.
The sanctuary has been around for 31 years. There are more than 100 species of birds that can be found living or migrating through.
This is the sanctuary's 19th year doing Haunted Hikes and it’s one of its favorite times of the year.
“It's just fun seeing everybody come in and seeing the kids enjoy themselves and having a good time,” said Jackie Reinhard, who works with the sanctuary. “We have a non scary walk and then we have a scary hike through the woods. And I wouldn't even do that myself.”
Organizers say it takes at least a full week to set up all the decorations and they have dozens of volunteers who help make the place extra scary.
You can pay them a visit next weekend on Oct. 23 and Oct. 24.
