An electrical fire has broken out outside the Hempstead District Courthouse.

The Nassau County Fire Marshal's Office says that it is an electrical vault fire at the exterior of the building. The fire has not spread into the courthouse, but elevators did stall.

Two people have been removed from one elevator, according to the fire marshals.

Fire crews are waiting for PSEG to arrive on scene to confirm that the electric has been shut down before they can begin applying water to the fire.
