Adventureland in East Farmingdale remains closed Thursday afternoon due to a power outage and extreme heat, park officials said in a social media announcement.
The decision came around 9:30 a.m., 90 minutes before the park was scheduled to welcome guests starting at 11 a.m.
According to PSEG Long Island, crews responded to an outage in East Farmingdale around 7:15 a.m. after a primary wire came down in two locations.
News 12 saw crews working on two poles along the border of Adventureland and the neighboring Target parking lot.
A Target spokesperson said: "[The store] had no operational disruptions. We were able to remain open this morning on generator power and the store remains open now."
PSEG said it expects to finish repairs by early this afternoon.
News 12 reached out to Adventureland for comment but has not yet heard back.
Adventureland officials posted online and said they would make an announcement later today on whether the park would open for the evening.
