Police say six men are facing charges after a major gun trafficking bust in Nassau County.
Police released photos of guns and drugs, including heroin, that they uncovered.
The Nassau County district attorney says some of the illegal gun sales happened during the day, right across the street from a school near the Nassau-Queens border.
"Any single one of these nearly 50 guns had the potential to do untold damage in our neighborhoods, in our region, in our state,” says Nassau District Attorney Anne Donnelly. “We have already linked two of these guns to shootings that happened outside our jurisdiction, and we believe the defendants are suspected to be members of a violent Jamaica-based gang.”
Donnelly says she expects there will be more defendants and further charges.
